Listeners may have noticed that Bryan has taken a couple of days off lately and his "twittering" has fallen off a bit as well. Are the guys exhausted? Are they fading on us? Just the opposite! For every 5-10 minute episode of Bryan Radio there are hours of conversation between Bryan and Jim that you never hear. There are many reasons for this, but mostly it's the fact that Bryan trust Jim completely with almost every aspect of his life and talks openly and freely with him about the many issues affecting him as a 27 year old autistic adult.

So, each evening's phone call to Bryan evolves into an hour or so of Bryan "venting," about a present dilemma while at the same time entrusting Jim with his concerns about what tomorrow or next week might bring. Bryan also shows an insightful and endearing side of himself that is just hard to capture when he remembers that the call is being recorded for show purposes. Bryan has also genuinely "counseled" Jim on a range of topics from communicating better with his wife to being the best father to his two kids.

Jim spends hours each day going through dozens of these phone conversations to create a condensed version of his conversations with Bryan regarding autism and other topics.

But what happens when Jim stumbles upon a handful of past conversations with Bryan that never made it to the show for one reason or another? Conversations that have had him hard at work with Bryan's help over the past week to produce a very special holiday offering to all Bryan Radio listeners...stay tuned!

"This show 'stinks' big time" according to the boys but, hey, they said they would put out a show a day until they get it right. Listener beware!

Happy Halloween from Bryan Radio! Jim and Bryan wish everyone a safe and fun Halloween as they finish up their 5th week of Bryan radio with some reminiscing of Halloweens past.

Is it possible that just like when he was 8 years old and first met Jim, that we could all be witnessing the power of friendship and playfulness as a therapeutic tool for helping people with autism? Is this the beginning of "Radio Therapy?" In this episode of Bryan Radio you will start to get a feel for what Jim has in mind for Bryan down the road. Here's a hint just in case you miss it: a greater feeling of "self-sufficiency."

Jim gives Bryan the day off while giving listeners a few of his favorite Bryan Radio excerpts about Twitter, Bryan's Mom, and how to best help kids with autism. Please pass this little collection of Bryan's "Tweets" along to everyone you know!

It's been talked about on a previous show, but Jim felt compelled to address what may be the single most disheartening thing for autistic children to overcome: getting the "cold shoulder." From being laughed at to having someone not want you around, it's hard on the kids and maybe even harder on their parents who want the best for their children, including trying to ensure that they develop a group of friends. Jim brings up a good point in that there are kids out there that, for whatever reason, just "get it' and are eager to embrace and become friends with autistic kids. Jim says we should treasure these special friends and not worry too much about the ones that don't "get it." In time maybe they will!

Jim and Bryan revisit Marbridge and Barton Creek to see how well Bryan might be able to perform as sort of a "pitch man" for other autism-related products and services or any other positive stories that parents and their children would be interested in hearing more about. We welcome your comments.  

In this episode of Bryan Radio Jim helps get Bryan ready for media interviews by posing as a reporter, a silly one we might add. You have to hear what Bryan says about living in a "cruel world" and how people "look down on us." It will touch your heart. Jim also asks Bryan what he thinks he would be like without autism. At first Bryan says, "Normal." Then he pauses and says, "I am already normal, as normal as can be!" Great answer, Bryan!

A listener emails Jim and asks how he was able to help Bryan accomplish so much where other kids with Bryan's level of autism may have not fared nearly as well. Before bringing Bryan on the air Jim answers this question while also asking everyone to got out and make a friend with someone who has autism...you just might change a life forever! Did you know Jim was once a Barnes & Noble "Author of the Month" for his book "Playdates" which chronicles his story of helping chilren through play. Bryan is the centerpiece of the book.

The boys continue to experiment with their format as they do two new "Live Look Ins," one from yesterday afternoon as Bryan's day is winding down at Marbridge and the other from today as Bryan is leaving work and heading back home for dinner. Thanks for listening to Bryan Radio!

Jim takes you "live" to Bryan as he gets ready to head into his "Life Skills" classes at Marbridge in Austin, Texas.  As the boys get ready for their Nov. 20th event they will begin to do more shows like this one that will take listeners inside Bryan's day, hopefully in the end leaving little doubt that autism is certainly a very real challenge for those who have it and for their parents and friends as well. This show is just the beginning of Bryan and Jim shining an inescapable spotlight on the uninformed notion by some that autism is somehow related to poor parenting or that kids like Bryan are "spoiled" or "dumb."  It's just the opposite actually. Starting their 4th week of the Bryan Radio show. Jim speaks from the heart about his commitment to getting the word out about Bryan's story and how Bryan's Twitter followers can help. The boys also put out a challenge to the 2 celebrity "knuckleheads" that have been espousing misconceptions about autistic children, inviting both Mr. Savage and Mr. Leary to a friendly debate on the subject in Austin on November 2oth. As a follow-up to yesterday's Bryan Radio show, Bryan talks about some of the special people in his life that not only met him at his "coping level" but also took the time to be his friend.

Okay, it may not be a fancy answer filled with jargon almost no one understands, but it does come from Bryan's heart and we think that's more important. It's a very poignant moment as Bryan explains to Jim how he thinks that clinicians should every now and then take a break from from the standard approach and reach out to autistic children on what Bryan so wonderfully describes as their "coping level." Hey that's kind of a fancy word! Good job Bryan and thanks for the question Tara, the boys did their best to answer it.

The guys are so eager to answer today's questions they end up talking over one another a few times but what a great show as Jim addresses our listeners personally at the end to thank them for all their support and encouragement!

In this episode of Bryan Radio the guys give a shout out to the Austin cell phone shop that helped get Bryan back on air and did not charge him for it. They also talk about how to deal with rude people and Bryan's ever-growing legion of followers on Twitter! Also, Bryan turns 27 years old on October 18th!!

Bryan's got cell phone problems but the guys managed to get their daily Bryan Radio show in. Bryan talks about where he would like to be a decade from now and discusses the economy and gas prices with Jim.

Jim's eight-year-old son, Cabot, takes over for him during the first part of the show to ask Bryan some questions about autism and what he wants for his upcoming birthday. Jim finishes off the show by asking Bryan about the best jobs for people with autism and what autistic adults need to make it in life. Good job Cabot!

This extended episode of Bryan Radio is all about Bryan's beautiful girlfriend, Molly! Well, except for the part where Jim and Bryan discuss how they both sometimes slip into fantasy mode, Jim with his college football and Bryan with his "D.J." job in Hamburg, Germany! If we all treated everyone else with the compassion and respect that Bryan gives Molly...that's a whole other show! In this episode, their 2nd one produced all by themselves, the boys struggle with some audio issues but feel that instead of trying to be perfect they should make sure they are getting a show out each day and on a regular schedule. In the next show they will answer questions regarding the challenges of producing the show and how they plan to get better and better with each episode.
